O.k. it's a tiny bit late but I'm FINALLY watching "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zizou." My nephiew recomended the hell out of it last year at some point when i was bitching that pretty much everything produced in the US last year was pretty much crap.

So I started watching it and he's a pretty sharp kid so in general I respect what he has to say. But I have to say it was a pretty boring movie, vey predictable, campy but too contrived to really be enjoyable.

And then they decided to rescue the bond company stooge.

I have to say it was great.

I REALLY don't like to put up with movies/books/stories where you have to slog through a bunch of boring crap to get to the good part. but the boring part wasn't THAT boring and honestly, it's worth it. very much worth it. This turns into a GREAT movie. Heartwarming without being contrite. Still a little too contrived but that has stopped bothering me.

By the way Bill murray, unlike the rest of the male population is getting cuter. He really wasn't doing so well for... well.. um his entire life, he's just never been a very good looking guy but as a fifty something looking guy he's actually kinda attractive.

Who'da thunk right.

Angelica Huston on the other hand not doing so hot. I mean I was thinking "wow, she's looking really good for her age" and then I found out she's only fifty seven. I'd still totally tap the hell out of that but she really looks like someone in her late sixties/early seventies that's looking really good for her age. For a 57 year old she doesn't look so hot.

It's also got Michael Gambon in it whom most will recomend for his work repriesing the role of Dumbeldore after the death of Richard (OMFG what a good job) Harris. he's turning out to be a favorite of mine. A very versatile actor who does a great job playing a truly creapy bad guy in layer cake.

Great Portuguese covers of a bunch of David Bowie tracks. A pretty decent soundtrack overall.

I'm givin' it a 5 in the netflix queue.

No problem. I've been faving people who's art I think will be usefull as reference or inspiration.

Don't worry about the english. I'm learning portuguese and my portuguese is WAY worse than your english. ^_-

Not bad at all, some colors would be nice : ) My account looked the same at the beginning, all black and white XD

Thanks. I think it's probably important for me to start with color as soon as possible. I see tons of artist make comments about how hard it is for them to get themselves to work with color and I don't want to be one of them. ^_^ You think?

I have started playing a bit both with colored pencils and with photoshop but not much. I'm having issues with getting the line art into photoshop. I'm toying with the idea of inking it before I scan it. Your advice?
:iconsketchingdays:
Oh definitely, well you have a few choices, you can 1) ink digitally (depending on your experience it can go from extremely slow to very fluent and fast) it gives extremely smooth results, but it is quite hard for the inexperienced 2) Draw in pencil so cleanly that by adjusting it in photoshop you don't even need to ink (usually what I do when I work with a lineart) 3) Ink it beforehand :)
As for coloring, yeh you should start it as soon as you can, the longer you wait the harder it'll become to get yourself into it, ideally with practice, coloring will be just another step to the finished picture :)

I've really been drawing for about 2 months now. I have zero experience. I've worked with the gimp a little but I'm not real up on the digital inking. I was thinking I need to learn to use the pen tool properly no?

I think I'm leaning on inking it before hand. I just haven't done much that I didn't put enough effort into that I'm nervous about screwing it up. 0.0!

I've been trying for 2. I go over my lines after I'm satisfied with my pencil and try and darken them up. I think I need to try going over them with a softer pencil maybe before i go to the ink. Harder pencil is giving me finer lines which I like but it's not been the easiest to adjust once I pull it into photoshop.

Yeh inking is always very hard at the beginning because you lack the confidence in yourself, with time you learn to be more certain of your abilities, less afraid to mess up, and generally speaking you ink much faster, and mess much less :)

I'm putting them aside so I can go back to them. I just decided to start working with color.
